Job requirements

As a Sous Chef, you are responsible for the operations in the kitchen. You report to and advise the Head Chef, always keeping the objectives in mind. With your creativity, you can create a beautiful menu and surprise our guests with each dish through your professional cooking skills. With your enthusiasm, you can pass on this knowledge and expertise to the rest of the kitchen team. Furthermore, you are the right hand of the chef, the point of contact, and responsible for handling questions, complaints, and issues. You also take the initiative in creating new recipes, trying them out, and evaluating them. You tackle challenges and immediately look for solutions.

You will also do the following

  • Contribute to developing a seasonal and recognizable menu

  • Supervise, coach, and motivate the kitchen team

  • Ensure the presentation and timing of dishes

  • Inventory management: from receipt to calculation and orders

  • Resolve minor technical issues and identify major ones

  • Ensure safety and hygiene according to Arbo and HACCP

  • And of course: enjoy a drink with your colleagues after a successful shift

You are or have

  • MBO level 3 education and thinking level

  • Demonstrable experience at a similar level

  • Knowledge of products/ingredients and (the composition of) the menu

  • You are flexible in working hours (including weekends and evenings)
